One of the biggest decisions to be made when moving home is what furniture to take with you to the new home. Often client’s have lived in their home for 40 years plus and will have more furniture than will probably fit safely in their new home.

Many of our clients ask us to help them choose what to take with them – would that wall unit fit on that wall? would that sideboard be better than the dresser in terms of storage? An effective way to help client’s make their decision’s on what to take with them is to draw scaled furniture floor plans. These show the client’s current furniture in the new home. It really helps a client to visualise the new space and to ensure the new home won’t be too cluttered.

We use some great software to produce these and work together with the client moving furniture around in the plan until they are happy.

Not being clear on what will fit and where in the new home can be a costly mistake to make – arriving on move day with too much furniture is stressful and can be dangerous in terms of a safe new environment. In addition, you might end up paying for more removals and storage and then having to sort the issue later.
