What is your favourite part of working as a Senior Move Manager?

This is a very hard question to answer, but I think it would be working with my lovely clients. It is just so fulfilling to know that you are taking some of the strain from them, focussing them in the best way possible and seeing the delight on their faces (albeit full of exhaustion too) at the end of unpacking in their new home. I get to go home and know that I have helped these lovely people - and knowing what an amazing job I have!

What part of your work do you find the hardest?

The emotional side of downsizing and moving, often from the family home and often after decades of that being their home. A move can happen due to illness or bereavement and for some of my clients and their families the emotion which goes with that is overwhelming. I know from my own experience after losing my Mum suddenly and quickly, going through belongings and saying 'goodbye' to many items can take its toll.

What did you do before becoming a Senior Move Manager?

Before becoming a Senior Move Manager, I took 6 years to bring up my kiddies. I used to manage projects within the media industry -multitasking is my forte. These skills allow me to listen, understand, gather information, analyse it and then turn that into a logical plan for my clients.

What misconceptions do people have about our work?

I think the biggest misconception about what a Senior Move Manager is or does or in fact, can do. Many people I speak to are surprised with the wide range of tasks we can complete.

If you get a free moment, what do you do to unwind?

Well, I am a biker-chick and love nothing more than taking to the road (weather permitting of course!) - and if there are cake stops along the way, I'm a very happy bunny.

What is the most unique request you have dealt with for a client and how did you do so?

It would be, getting in touch with a famous actor to see if he wanted an old original painting of his house and then shipping it to him.
